Long time experience
FEV has more than 30 years of experience in deep technical benchmarking. With four benchmark centers worldwide, more than twelve technical centers and a wide range of test facilities, FEV performs comprehensive benchmarking analysis programs. FEV offers a unique combination of testing capabilities, design assessment and cost evaluation. This enables us to analyze technical products from multiple dimensions and provide a complete picture of why they perform so well, are so efficient or can be delivered at such low cost.
Deep technical assessment of latest technologies
For performance benchmarking, vehicles are equipped with a comprehensive range of sensors to measure real performance data during defined test procedures. With this extensive sensor instrumentation, the vehicles undergo specific tests on the road, on the test track, on the climatized chassis dynamometer and on the vehicle hub-dyno testbench.
Our standard benchmarking program includes test modules such as energy consumption, control strategy, powertrain efficiency, charging performance and thermal management. The vast amount of measured data is refined and analyzed by our engineering experts and presented in easy-to-understand graphs and FEV scatter plots so that our customers can quickly understand the results and key findings from our reports. Raw measurement data is also provided for further analysis and simulation.
Our detailed teardown and design benchmarking studies provide complete transparency into the latest vehicle architectures, product designs, features and technical characteristics. Our Benchmarking Academy provides our clients with a unique atmosphere to discuss the latest hardware, generate new design ideas and identify cost reduction measures. Our cost engineers evaluate and compare product costs during their cost benchmarking studies and identify best cost solutions. All our valuable benchmarking data is accessible and analyzable in our professional benchmarking database solution called “carat”.
